The spirit of creativity was alive and thriving during Mexico City Art Week and Escuela Lomas Altas was no exception. Our talented students showcased their artistic prowess through various mediums. The United for Reading poster contest and our very own art exhibition were testaments to the creativity and skill that abound within our school community.
Literature lovers rejoiced as our annual book fair took centre stage. From classic tales to contemporary stories, there was something for everyone among the pages of the books on offer.
One of the highlights of the month was the annual visit from our exchange students hailing from Sanderson Academy in Ashfield, Massachusetts. Immersed in the vibrant culture of Mexico City, our visitors embarked on a journey of exploration, with highlights including a tour of the awe-inspiring Teotihuacán pyramids. These exchanges fostered invaluable connections, bridging the gap between communities across borders.
As a testament to our school’s diverse community, we joyously commemorated UNESCO’s International Mother Language Day. This year marked our eighth observance of the occasion, and we chose to retell the timeless tale of Hansel and Gretel by the Brothers Grimm. Across languages spanning English to Farsi, our students united to bring the tale to life, showcasing the beauty of linguistic diversity.
